About This Blog & Me

I haven't really grown up. And I've always been a huge fan of the Transformers  '80s cartoons, as well as Legos and minifigs.

Along the way, I also picked up photography as a hobby.

So when I slowly started collecting the modern version toys of the characters I loved as a child, the camera just helped me realise the stories brewing in my imagination of what my toys would be doing at particular moments, or when I posed them in certain ways. Or what I thought they would be doing in my apartment, scattered all over the place, while I was at work. Or what I imagined they would be interested in, when I took them out with me.

In my mind, the photos and stories and comics here are what my scattered toys' lives are like, being toys and all, while having the personalities of their cartoon selves.

I guess you can liken it to me playing dollhouse, and inviting you to watch and come play. And, instead of dolls, there are robots and Lego minifigs.

Anyway, I do hope you enjoy the blog! And I do love feedback, so if you've got something to say on anything I've done here, please feel free to leave a comment or more. :-)

Oh, and a little bit about me?

I'm a programmer by day. Other times, I'm just geeking out on something - be it computer games, toys, legos, transformers, or whatever. There are heaps of things I'm interested in!

I also love to exchange postcards with people around the world. I love postal mail, there is still something quite awesome about receiving physical things from someone across the world. If you'd like to do a postcard exchange with me, feel free to contact me! :-)

toy showcase: kre-o microchangers combiners - constructicon devastator

I *love* the Kre-O microchangers series. And when they came out with 4 packs of combiner/gestalt goodness? I had to rush to the nearest Toys R Us the moment there was confirmed sighting of their stock arrival. Now, I understand that there are Transformers fans out there who are rather disappointed with this series - they'd rather see more awesome bots and figures being produced by Hasbro. I am not against them, cooler bot toys would be awesome, too. But I do love me some Lego minifig-style bots. They're easy to play with and bring around and take silly pictures with! There are a total of 4 different Combiner packs so far: Decepticon Bruticus, Constructicon Devastator, Predaking, and Superion. That's 3 Decepticon gestalts versus 1 Autobot gestalt. Not fair, Hasbro! :P But whatever, I guess they went by popularity? I don't know. Here are the main covers of the boxes:And the front flaps that showcase the individual Kreon bots:Notice how they only make use of 4 bots for each …

the 2012 holiday greeting cards

Work has been kicking my ass these past few months - I have never been as busy in my job as I have been these recent times! But I really wanted to get some cards printed out to mail to friends this year. I keep wanting to do it every year, but something almost always comes up. Somehow, I got the motivation this year to really, really do it. Even if I practically have no free time. Not sure how that works out for my brain and motivation, but hey, here we are. Two sleepless nights of setups and picture-taking, and a few trips to various printers to find one that printed decently and was open during hours when I could actually be around, and here is the result:The subjects are a mix of Transformers, Avengers and Minecraft. Plus Deadpool, who was a last-minute inclusion because he just happened to be there. I'm slightly disappointed in myself for not having one with DC Superheroes minifigs. Maybe next year. One of my friends remarked, "Who sends cards these days?"  Hah! I love…
