About This Blog & Me

I haven't really grown up. And I've always been a huge fan of the Transformers  '80s cartoons, as well as Legos and minifigs.

Along the way, I also picked up photography as a hobby.

So when I slowly started collecting the modern version toys of the characters I loved as a child, the camera just helped me realise the stories brewing in my imagination of what my toys would be doing at particular moments, or when I posed them in certain ways. Or what I thought they would be doing in my apartment, scattered all over the place, while I was at work. Or what I imagined they would be interested in, when I took them out with me.

In my mind, the photos and stories and comics here are what my scattered toys' lives are like, being toys and all, while having the personalities of their cartoon selves.

I guess you can liken it to me playing dollhouse, and inviting you to watch and come play. And, instead of dolls, there are robots and Lego minifigs.

Anyway, I do hope you enjoy the blog! And I do love feedback, so if you've got something to say on anything I've done here, please feel free to leave a comment or more. :-)

Oh, and a little bit about me?

I'm a programmer by day. Other times, I'm just geeking out on something - be it computer games, toys, legos, transformers, or whatever. There are heaps of things I'm interested in!

I also love to exchange postcards with people around the world. I love postal mail, there is still something quite awesome about receiving physical things from someone across the world. If you'd like to do a postcard exchange with me, feel free to contact me! :-)

toy showcase: kre-o microchangers combiners - constructicon devastator

I *love* the Kre-O microchangers series. And when they came out with 4 packs of combiner/gestalt goodness? I had to rush to the nearest Toys R Us the moment there was confirmed sighting of their stock arrival. Now, I understand that there are Transformers fans out there who are rather disappointed with this series - they'd rather see more awesome bots and figures being produced by Hasbro. I am not against them, cooler bot toys would be awesome, too. But I do love me some Lego minifig-style bots. They're easy to play with and bring around and take silly pictures with! There are a total of 4 different Combiner packs so far: Decepticon Bruticus, Constructicon Devastator, Predaking, and Superion. That's 3 Decepticon gestalts versus 1 Autobot gestalt. Not fair, Hasbro! :P But whatever, I guess they went by popularity? I don't know. Here are the main covers of the boxes: And the front flaps that showcase the individual Kreon bots: Notice how they only make use of 4 b

fun with a personal bat signal

On my second viewing of The Dark Knight Rises (awesome movie, by the way!), the cinema was selling a popcorn and soda combo that came with a projector pen. Yes, I am well aware that cinema popcorn is highway robbery in disguise. But I like my movie munchies, so there. :P Anyway, about that projector pen -- I thought it would just be a random pen with a flashlight on one end, and the writing tip on the either, except that since this is a TDKR promo, it would have a Batman logo on the side. When I got home and tried the flashlight out, it projected a Dark Knight Rises Bat logo! Freaking awesome! I now have a personal mini bat signal. :D Woot! Batman and Robin were more than willing to pose with the new toy. Here’s Batman with a solo, err, trio shot of bats. Even Catwoman wanted in on the action. Something about black also being her color, and loving shadows and being adaptable. Yeah, something like that. She actually wanted her close-up picture featured instead, but she was in a

grimlock is a growing dinobot - my toys are alive 13

This is the 13th comic from my old comic series, My Toys are Alive ! All that candy can’t be good for Grimlock! But maybe it isn’t bad, either. This comic was made and posted originally a few days after Christmas 2011, hence the tiny Christmas trees and the candy. Grimlock is always looking for candy in my apartment and usually just takes a tiny nibble or so before Prowl or someone else stops him, but this time he gets to consume an entire overflowing jar. But is there something special in that jar of candy? Why is it labeled ‘Do not eat!’? Hmm! Hope you enjoyed the comic! --- Post-comic notes: Hasbro Masterpiece Grimlock was gifted to me by a very good friend during my birthday in 2010. He is a huge Grimlock fan, and the only Transformers toys he collects are anything Grimlock-related. I can’t exactly remember when it was, but for sometime he wasn’t having any luck finding a Titanium War Within Grimlock, and I got it for him on his birthday. He often asked me why I wouldn’t bu
