to cybertron con 2012 we went

Cybertron Con 2012 was held at the Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore last March 11-14! We snagged a VIP ticket, and attended the first day, but work got in the way and we didn't get to go back on the following days anymore. We're pretty bummed about it, but oh well.

My little Kreon buddies, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, kept tugging at me to bring them to the Con and take their pictures. Of course, I couldn't say no.

Here we'll see them prior to entering the convention grounds.

But first, breakfast!

And perhaps a brochure or two to find out about the area.

We found the entrance to Cybertron Con!

Hmmm, what are the scheduled activities for the day? Optimus seems intent on finding cryptic clues in the "Battle Plans". You know, just in case there were Decepticon hidden messages.

Behind us is the stage for the opening ceremony! They had, um, "NEST boys" dancing to pop songs of some sort. Kinda weird, but okay!

Look, we found the All-Spark! Though we're not sure what that is. We're G1 Kreons, after all. It looks just like a box with random squigglies.

Check out these guys behind us! They're *us* but I think they've been "bonemealed". Or maybe they ate too much Star Margarine.

The line to the convention doorway was pretty long!

We'll see you inside!

toy showcase: kre-o microchangers combiners - constructicon devastator

I *love* the Kre-O microchangers series. And when they came out with 4 packs of combiner/gestalt goodness? I had to rush to the nearest Toys R Us the moment there was confirmed sighting of their stock arrival. Now, I understand that there are Transformers fans out there who are rather disappointed with this series - they'd rather see more awesome bots and figures being produced by Hasbro. I am not against them, cooler bot toys would be awesome, too. But I do love me some Lego minifig-style bots. They're easy to play with and bring around and take silly pictures with! There are a total of 4 different Combiner packs so far: Decepticon Bruticus, Constructicon Devastator, Predaking, and Superion. That's 3 Decepticon gestalts versus 1 Autobot gestalt. Not fair, Hasbro! :P But whatever, I guess they went by popularity? I don't know. Here are the main covers of the boxes:And the front flaps that showcase the individual Kreon bots:Notice how they only make use of 4 bots for each …

fun with a personal bat signal

On my second viewing of The Dark Knight Rises (awesome movie, by the way!), the cinema was selling a popcorn and soda combo that came with a projector pen. Yes, I am well aware that cinema popcorn is highway robbery in disguise. But I like my movie munchies, so there. :P Anyway, about that projector pen -- I thought it would just be a random pen with a flashlight on one end, and the writing tip on the either, except that since this is a TDKR promo, it would have a Batman logo on the side. When I got home and tried the flashlight out, it projected a Dark Knight Rises Bat logo! Freaking awesome! I now have a personal mini bat signal. :D Woot!Batman and Robin were more than willing to pose with the new toy. Here’s Batman with a solo, err, trio shot of bats.Even Catwoman wanted in on the action. Something about black also being her color, and loving shadows and being adaptable. Yeah, something like that. She actually wanted her close-up picture featured instead, but she was in a frantic hurr…

the beer and the bees - my toys are alive 02

This is the 2nd comic from my old comic series, My Toys are Alive. Before you start reading, though, know that light booze and candy addiction, as well as some "grownup humor", may appear in these comics. You can click the mini version of the comic below to see the larger, more readable version. Enjoy!
